  1. Just a brief report...  Actualy this is the first time I saw something I 
  2. can't quite explain.

  4. Where: State Hwy 9 in Iowa traveling west, about 5 miles east of Rt63
  5. My position.  I was driving in my car with the window completely down.
  6. Time: about 1:30pm
  7. WX: abt 63degrees. Light breeze out of west. Mostly Sunny, a few cumulus 
  8. clouds but not many.
  9. Date 3/16/95
  10. Other Aircraft: 3 or 4 high flying jets.  12 to 15 jet trails in sky.
  11. What I saw:  Looking at a jet, just before entering a clowd bank, flying 
  12. west to east, I noticed a bright (reflective) object about 2 degrees 
  13. ahead of the jet.  It seemed elongated and rotating.  The reflection 
  14. varied with a cycle of about .75 seconds.  Its length seemed to be about 
  15. twice that of the jet.  Using the jet and the neadby clowd as references, 
  16. it seemed to be ahead and below the jet.  It was traveling almost due 
  17. south, much faster than the jet.  The object left no exhaust trail.  I 
  18. saw it for about 5 seconds before it went into the cloud.  checked my 
  19. glasses to be sure it wasn't a reflection.  It wasn't.  There were no 
  20. trees in the area and the onjy birds birds around were pheasants feeding 
  21. on the ground.

  23. I would appreciate e-mail speculation.  I am most certainly not a 
  24. crack-pot, actualy I am a UFO skeptic (not unbeliever).
